On Jan. 29, 2021, the Department of Transportation (DOT) posted frequently asked questions in response to the mask mandate order issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The order requires travelers to wear masks at conveyances and transportation hubs to prevent the spread of COVID-19. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a new variant of COVID-19 has been reported in the United States.
Referred to as B.1.1.7, this strain of the coronavirus was identified in the United Kingdom before it was detected in the United States. As of this writing, B.1.1.7 cases have been confirmed in California, Florida, New York, Georgia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and Pennsylvania.
